TRAINING OF VOLUNTEERS IN HUMANITARIAN AID
Based on ethical, strategic, tactical and technical knowledge that will help strengthen and improve resilience of civil society to better face emergencies and disasters. This will undoubtedly help save lives and mitigate disaster risk.
In recent years, New Acropolis Chile has made important achievements in the humanitarian field. The organization has developed a strong group of trained and committed volunteers, and has implemented a series of prevention and education programs that have reached thousands of people.
Among the most outstanding achievements of New Acropolis Chile are:
Training of its volunteers, many of them as Monitors in humanitarian response issues, including humanitarian standards such as the Sphere manual, search and rescue, psychological first aid, emergency education, among many others.
Implementation of prevention and education programs on risk management issues in schools, universities and civil society organizations.
Participation in the response to humanitarian emergencies in Chile and abroad.

Who We Are
PRESENTATION
New Acropolis is an international non-profit organization that promotes culture, philosophy and volunteerism. In Chile, the organization was founded in 1965 and currently has 23 headquarters in 20 cities and has had consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Committee since 2016. In recent years, New Acropolis Chile has intensified its work in the humanitarian field. The organization has participated in the response to humanitarian emergencies inside and outside Chile, and has developed a series of prevention and education programs on risk management issues, acting in accordance with law 21,364, which in article 4, literal e) says: “the System must recognize, facilitate and promote the participation of organized civil society, including volunteers, in the Disaster Risk Management process.”
REVIEW
The 2010 earthquake in Chile was a turning point for New Acropolis Chile. The organization became involved in the emergency response, and realized the need to strengthen its risk management capabilities, from that moment on it focused on the development of prevention and humanitarian response capabilities. Over the years it developed a strong group of trained and committed volunteers and implemented a series of prevention and education programs that have reached hundreds of people.
